The Ottawa automotive community is strongest when dealerships share information that helps protect one another from fraud, theft, and emerging threats.
If your dealership encounters suspicious activity, fraudulent identification, attempted fraud, vehicle theft, attempted vehicle theft, organized criminal activity, financing fraud, identity theft, or other concerning incidents, ONCDA encourages you to report the information for review.
Information shared by one dealership may help protect other dealerships across Ottawa from similar incidents.
Why Report Incidents to ONCDA?
A suspicious customer, fraudulent identification document, theft attempt, or organized fraud scheme encountered at one dealership today may appear at another dealership tomorrow.
By reporting incidents to ONCDA, members contribute to a stronger, more informed dealership community. Where appropriate, information may be reviewed, redacted, and distributed more broadly to ONCDA members to help raise awareness and reduce risk across Ottawa’s automotive community.
Important Information
Reporting an incident to ONCDA does not replace reporting requirements or other actions that may be appropriate for the situation.
Dealerships should continue to contact the appropriate authorities, regulatory bodies, insurers, lenders, manufacturers, or service providers as required.
